The Rugby Players Association (RPA) represents the welfare and employment interests of all Aviva Premiership rugby players. Together with the Rugby Football Union (RFU), and Premiership Rugby, the RPA has established the Player Development Programme (PDP).
The purpose of the PDP is to support players in:

Job Description
The RPA is looking for an experienced individual, a natural educator or trainer, to provide personal development and educational advice and support to its members. This role requires great empathy with people and an excellent understanding and experience of elite athletes and elite sport. A rugby background and interest is preferable. We are looking for a self motivated, well organised and results orientated individual.
Roles and Responsibilities
To encourage players about their personal development, and provide all the help and support they need. To build trusting, confidential relationships with individual players to provide support as follows.
Individual player development plans
Encourage and advise each player in producing a personal development plan
Career planning
Undertake career planning with players
Identify career interests and possible options
Provide career information advice and guidance
Source work experience opportunities and career events
Develop local network of mentors and work experience opportunities
Education and vocational training
Provide guidance and facilitate introductions to relevant courses
Assist Players with admission and the application process
Develop and maintain a network of local providers e.g. training providers, colleges and universities
Life after rugby
Provide job search training inc. CV and interview skills
Facilitate introductions to potential employers and recruitment consultants
Develop local network of rugby friendly employers
Provide support during transition from rugby into workplace
Personal and professional development
Deliver a programme of personal and professional development seminars in conjunction with each individual club
Design, develop and implement seminars and work with external providers
Player welfare
Primary contact (outside of club) for welfare
Deliver social responsibility education e.g. drink/drugs, sports betting integrity/gambling, addiction, social awareness, sexual health
