Player Insurance

All Premiership Registered Senior RPA Members are covered on and off the pitch, at home and abroad, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Therefore if you are not registered with the RFU to play Premiership or European Cup rugby, you are not covered. Academy (contracted non-registered players) Personal Accident Insurance is also now in place, outlined in the table below.

Cover is provided on a 24 hour world wide basis, on or off the field.

Benefits Payable

50% of insured salary paid tax free, subject to a maximum benefit of £175,000
E.g. Insured salary - £100,000 before tax = £50,000 paid tax free

Benefits are payable for

A maximum period of 10 years or to age 35 if sooner.

Or for a minimum of 3 years (e.g. if age 34)

Or until the member returns to employment

General Notes

No medical underwriting required

The player must though be fit to play professional rugby professional rugby at the outset of the contract.

There is no pre-existing injury exclusion clause on this policy
