Alex graduated with a Business Degree from Southampton in 2000 and joined the RPA (formerly PRA) later that year. He quickly established himself, building valuable relationships with the players throughout the Premiership and a strong understanding of the business.

In 2003, Alex took on the responsibility for the implementation and delivery of all welfare services to the players and was appointed Welfare Manager. Alex has played a big part in the growth of the Players' Association and was appointed second in command to the CEO in 2004. Alex has since been a key driver behind the expansion of all services and improved provisions available to players.

He works closely with the Governing Bodies, the RFU and PRL, and represents the RPA on a number of Boards and Bodies concerning important employment and welfare matters.

Alex continues to manage the operational side of the business as Head of Player Services. He has also brought in a number of commercial partners and suppliers and sits on the RPA Strategy Group.

Alex is an active sportsman who finished playing rugby with a shoulder injury, but more recently competed in a half marathon and the 2009 London Triathlon raising money for the RPA Benevolent Fund, The Players' Charity.
