Matt Allen

Player Development Manager - Midlands

Matt joined the RPA in March 2008, and has responsibility as the Player Development Manager (PDM) for members playing at Saracens, Northampton and Leicester.

Matt brings a wealth of first class rugby experience to his role as a PDM. He has played club rugby for Northampton Saints, Cardiff and Bedford Blues. He has also represented the Barbarians and toured Australia and Argentina with England. Matt made more than 180 appearances for Northampton, and was an integral part of the victorious European Cup winning team of 2000.

He spent three years in Cardiff before joining Bedford, where he was captain for four years, making over 100 appearances. Having gained a BSc (Hons) in Human Biology at Loughborough University, Matt studied part time for a Post Graduate Certificate in Sports Development at UWIC whilst playing at Cardiff, and has since worked in various roles within sport.
